GROCERY STORES
Circle Food Store is a historic grocery store in New Orleans' 7th Ward, established in 1938 as the first African-American-owned full-service grocery in the city. It quickly became a vital community resource, known for its fresh produce, affordability, and strong ties to local residents.

The store was severely impacted by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, which flooded the building and led to its closure. Owner Dwayne Boudreaux faced significant challenges in securing funding for renovations and developing a sustainable business model. With assistance from Tulane University MBA students, a comprehensive business plan was created that included strategies for revitalizing the store and integrating local vendors to support the community's needs.

The store officially reopened in 2014, continuing its legacy as a crucial food source and community hub. It now emphasizes sustainability, offering fresh groceries while actively engaging with local producers and addressing food accessibility issues in the area. Circle Food Store not only provides essential goods but also serves as a symbol of resilience and community spirit, reflecting the strength and determination of the 7th Ward residents
