OUR VISION
The St. Bernard Avenue Commercial Corridor Revitalization is a program created by NewCorp Inc. with the help of New Orleans Redevelopment Authority and New Orleans Redevelopment Unlimited.

Our goal is to connect businesses along St. Bernard Avenue with existing and potential customers using virtual tools. Our online business directory is used to fortify the small businesses along one of the most historic streets in New Orleans.
WHO ARE WE?
Founded over 25 years ago, NewCorp, Inc. is a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) dedicated to empowering small-to-moderate, minority, and women-owned businesses. With a strong focus on providing capital, counseling, technical assistance, and training, NewCorp has successfully deployed millions of dollars in disaster recovery loans and services to help small businesses bounce back from the challenges posed by Hurricane Katrina and the COVID-19 pandemic.
One of NewCorp’s recent and noteworthy projects was the renovation and rededication of the A.P. Tureaud Statue and Civil Rights Memorial Park. A.P. Tureaud, a distinguished Civil Rights leader and 7th Ward resident, played a pivotal role in desegregating public facilities in Louisiana and securing equal pay for African-American teachers. This project served as the launchpad for NewCorp’s 7th Ward Community Revitalization Project, which is focused on stimulating local economic development and reinvesting in the cultural heart of the 7th Ward.
A key component of this revitalization effort is the FARMacia Wellness Hub, a dedicated space for promoting health and wellness through community-driven activities and educational programming. This initiative reflects NewCorp’s broader mission to act as an economic catalyst in marginalized communities, leveraging their deep expertise in community economic development to ensure the 7th Ward’s cultural and historical legacy not only endures but flourishes.
NewCorp continues to develop exciting projects aimed at community growth and resilience, so be sure to stay informed about our latest initiatives to see how they might benefit you!
